Upcoming Deadline for 2024 ANS Annual Conference!

A note from Assel Aitkaliyeva, MSTD Chair:   The deadline for submitting summaries for 2024 ANS Annual Conference is rapidly approaching. We invite you to submit 1-pg abstract-style summaries (your summary no longer has to include figures, tables, and references!) by February 2, 2024. MSTD will kick thing off with a panel on “Accelerating qualification of materials for nuclear environments”, followed by sessions on various topics and a reception. MSTD Virtual Seminar Series is Back!

Summer over and feeling blue? We’re sure to turn that frown upside down with the MSTD Virtual Seminar Series, which is now back in full swing! This seminar series gives graduate students a platform to present their research in a professional setting. Our first seminar in this Fall 2023 will be hosted next Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 from 2pm – 3pm ET via Zoom. Two additional seminars hosted this Fall will be held on September 26th, 2023 and October 31st, 2023 from 2pm – 3pm ET. Graduate students students interested in presenting are encouraged to apply to this opportunity by sending an email to awbatall@ncsu.edu with the subject line “MSTD-VSS: Presentation Request” and include an abstract and a brief bio (e.g., affiliation, research interests, headshot). Rory Kennedy Receives ANS Fellow Award

  Dr. Rory Kennedy, director of the Nuclear Science User Facilities, was recognized for the ANS Fellow Award at the ANS 2020 Virtual Winter Meeting, Nov. 16-19.
